Holz ist als \u00f6kologisch hochwertiges Baumaterial auf dem Vormarsch. Denn mit Holz zu bauen, schont das Klima und vermeidet CO2. Der Rohstoff hat damit grosses Potenzial f\u00fcr die\u00a0 Kreislaufwirtschaft. Aber: \u00abHolz bleibt heute nicht lange genug Teil des Stoffkreislaufs\u00bb, sagt Sonja Geier, stellvertretende Leiterin des Kompetenzzentrums Typologie & Planung in Architektur (CCTP) an der Hochschule Luzern (HSLU). Was braucht es also, damit Holz nicht nur einmal verbaut werden kann, sondern auch wieder gen\u00fctzt, wenn ein Holzbau einmal wieder abgerissen wird? Wie wird Kreislaufwirtschaft f\u00fcr den Holzbau m\u00f6glich?<\/p>\n

Grundlagen schaffen, L\u00f6sungen entwickeln<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bislang fehlte die notwendige Grundlage f\u00fcr Planerinnen und Bauherren, um Prinzipien der Kreislaufwirtschaft auf den modernen Holzbau zu \u00fcbertragen. Sonja Geier und ihr Team haben darum
\ngemeinsam mit dem Lehrstuhl f\u00fcr Architecture and Timber Construction der Technischen Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnchen (TUM) untersucht, welche Barrieren und Hindernisse, aber auch Chancen und Potenziale es gibt. Daf\u00fcr nahmen die Forschenden von der Planung \u00fcber das Bauen bis hin zur Nutzung die gesamte Prozesskette unter die Lupe. Erst dank dieser Analyse konnten sie L\u00f6sungsstrategien und Handlungsempfehlungen f\u00fcr eine zirkul\u00e4re Holzbauwirtschaft entwickeln.
\nDas Projekt circularWOOD legt so die Grundlage f\u00fcr technische Innovationen und nachhaltige Praktiken in der gesamten Wertsch\u00f6pfungskette des Holzbaus. \u00abDas Potenzial von Holz als kreislauff\u00e4higer Baustoff ist noch nicht ausgesch\u00f6pft. Mit circularWOOD wollen wir den Paradigmenwechsel im Holzbau vorbereiten\u00bb, sagt Sonja Geier. Mit ihrer Arbeit gewannen HSLU und TUM die Sustainability Challenge 2024 in der Kategorie Forschung. Der Preis wird von einer Fachjury der Deutschen Gesellschaft f\u00fcr nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) vergeben. Die DGNB Sustainability Challenge sucht \u00abInnovationen, die Bestehendes hinterfragen, Neues anstossen und Ver\u00e4nderung bewirken\u00bb.<\/p>\n
